Soooo The Sims is 24 years old. It was released on February 4, just a few days before my birthday (fun fact, in The Netherlands The Sims was released on Feb 10, my birthday!)
This game has shaped my life in such a way… I don’t even know where to begin. From starting a fansite so I could share my creations, making lots of friends, some really good ones too, to fan events and press events at Maxis and EA, then meeting the love of my life through these events, and even a Sims themed wedding. We now have three kiddos who either played the game a lot in the past, or still do. So I am absolutely not exaggerating when I say that The Sims really changed and shaped my life to what it is today.
Now because of what happened in December (tldr; long hospital/ICU stay with our youngest) I am not really back to creating Sims content yet. I have not built anything in The Sims since we came back, I have not made any new custom content, and I have yet to stream or record a new video. So far 2024 has been all about recovery, and there has been ample time for games. But I will be back soon.
I could not resist creating a few Sims themed illustrations today. So here is one of them: A cute pink Freezer Bunny, holding a green plumbob, surrounded by red hearts, on a turquoise and teal gradient background, with the number 24 above it in yellow. I made some others, but I’ll share those later.Â
Happy anniversary The Sims! Here is to many, many more!
